Animal Ambulance Transportation – Terms & Conditions

1. Service Overview

Our animal ambulance transportation service provides non-emergency and emergency transportation for animals between homes, veterinary practices, referral hospitals and other agreed locations.

While every effort is made to ensure safe and timely transportation, transport times may vary due to traffic, weather, emergencies, or circumstances beyond our control.

2. Critical & Unstable Patients

While we take every possible precaution during transportation, critically ill or unstable patients are transported at the owner’s risk. Transporting critically unwell animals carries inherent risks, including deterioration during transit.

Our team will always prioritise patient welfare and speak with the veterinary practice that the patient is registered at.

3. Veterinary Care During Transport

If your animal requires any treatment or monitoring throughout transport, this will be discussed with the veterianry practice before transport. We have a team of Veterinary Care Assistants, Veterinary Nurses and Vets.
4. Referral Communication and Clinical Information Requirements

  • For all patient referrals, the referring veterinary practice must contact us directly. Communication should not be made via the owner in order to ensure accurate clinical discussion and to minimise the risk of missing or incomplete information.

  • The referring practice is required to provide full and relevant clinical history for the patient prior to transport.

  • Our ambulance team will review all submitted clinical information and may discuss the case further with the referring practice as required.

  • Where additional information is necessary, our team will contact the referring veterinary practice directly.

  • These requirements are in place to ensure safe, appropriate, and clinically informed patient trnasport and care.

 5.Cancellation Policy

If a booking is cancelled after the ambulance has been dispatched, the full quoted service charge will remain payable.

6. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice unless otherwise agreed by us.

7. Delays & Unforeseen Circumstances

We are not liable for delays caused by:

  • Traffic incidents

  • Severe weather

  • Road closures

  • Veterinary emergencies

  • Mechanical breakdowns

  • Circumstances beyond reasonable control

We will make every effort to keep owners informed of any significant delays.

8. Liability

While all reasonable care is taken during transportation, animals are transported at the owner’s risk.

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions

  • Illness progression during transport

  • Stress-related complications

  • Losses resulting from inaccurate information provided by the owner

Nothing within these terms excludes liability for negligence where required by law.

9. Aggressive or Dangerous Animals

Animals showing aggressive behaviour must be disclosed before transport. We have Animal Handlers who are trained.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate transportation if staff safety is compromised.

Additional handling charges may apply where specialist restraint is required.

10. Data Protection

All personal information is handled confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
